Once upon a time there was a lined and
squared teacher.
She taught in a school swarming with lively .
There she went by a tiny train that left before sunrise and arrived before
the smell of cappuccino and croissants.
One
day this teacher carefully observed the lines and the squares of her notebooks.
They all stood there, sharp, grey and white on sheets of paper where no
one was pleased to write anymore: they were still and unhappy.
The lined and squared teacher started to think. She imagined she could
create something different with them.
She coloured here and there, using bright
and natural
shades,
being careful not go over the lines and the squares. But all that she
got was only a soft patchwork .
Then she added rhythm and harmony, danced
tip tap between the lines, made the squares round, lavished all her fantasy...
But all that she got was only an out-of-tune pentagram..
Eventually she couched a series of bright
ideas, concentrated until she exploded, with the only result of having
produced illegal fireworks to let
shoot
in
the
forthcoming
village
festival.
Something eventually changed only when
she oiled her 's
gears with balsam and tried to exploit the squares and the lines like
her lively children did: without preconceived ideas, with amazement.
From then on, the lined and squared teacher
began to remember and to learn, to learn and to remember.
Slowly she remembered the joy of having
learnt lots of languages ,
and, with them, the will to communicate
with distant people and the chance to encounter different cultures .
She remembered, too, the excitement of the night when she first entered
Internet
and navigated there, during the dark night, until daylight, when she smelt
the aroma of cappuccino and croissants and realized she had missed the
tiny train
.
What a beautiful experience to be shared, what a surprise!!
Really!
After having navigated for a while, the
lined and squared teacher realized that these friends of hers, were the
most powerful means of transport that had ever existed.
The lines were nothing but hypertextual links, i.e. imaginary lines over
which thoughts can flow.
The squares, furthermore, could be enlarged and resized to host anchors,
tied between them and with us to
link images, ,
words, sounds and
other amazing witchcrafts.
Thus, she processed a
wiser way to use everything that she knew, she again found the enthusiasm
of
discovering things she didn't know, or, owing to a trick of fortune, which
she didn't remenber anymore.
The squared and lined teacher was being
transformed, and her metamorphosis was helping her to recover, maybe,
what she had once been, but had forgotten: a happy Webmaster
oops, teacher.
She took her mouse, a magic tool capable, with a single click, within
a blink, of allowing her to fly very far away, and navigated with enthusiasm
in her new adventure.
Her marvellous journey begins
